A time for everything

Sun through the clouds

Sunday

We had a great morning at church. The handbells were playing this morning - first for the prelude, and then accompanying the choir in their anthem, together with piano and percussion. It was entitled By Faith, and these were the first verses
“By faith, we see the hand of God
In the light of creation’s grand design;
In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness,
Who walk by faith and not by sight.

By faith, our fathers roamed the earth
With the power of His promise in their hearts
Of a holy city built by God’s own hand –
A place where peace and justice reign.

We will stand as children of the promise,
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward.
Till the race is finished and the work is done,
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight.”

This was a bit of a stretch for our handbell choir, and I think most people were glad when it was over! However, it went pretty well overall. It’s always a problem when we do this, as most of the handbell choir also usually sing in the choir, so the choir is somewhat reduced in size, especially the alto section!
Our pastor was starting a new sermon series this morning, and today’s message was Living peacefully with one another - wonderfully appropriate in light of the shooting in Christchurch.
The morning had dawned sunny but cold and frosty, but unfortunately, by the time we’d got home and had a bit of lunch, it had largely clouded over, so we went to the gym to work out, rather than going for a walk. My blip was taken as we left the “Y” - I thought the sky was quite striking. On my way back from the gym - we had taken separate cars - I stopped for a photo walk around Pioneer Park, where I took a couple of shots, but I finally decided to go with this one!
