Life in Sunny Dubai

Abstract Thursday: C'est moi!

Wow! It's been a non-stop day! The clock ticked over for me to begin a new year! The day started quiet, but it soon got quite frantic.

G came home by noon, and we were both starving, so we headed to Dubai Mall for lunch. It is Mother's Day in the Arab World today, so a number of restaurants have special promotions. Lunch was delicious and ample in the newly refurbished  Gourmet Lafayette. We could have gone to the branch in City Walk, but there were a few extra errands to run in the Mall.

All errands run and home for a couple of hours before heading out to Awana. My friends Veena and Vivek organised a cake for me to share with the kids! Not just any cake, but a Hummingbird Bakery chocolate cake! And if that wasn't enough, I received birthday greetings sung by the stalwarts who attend T@3 at the Wonersh church that we are part of when we're in the UK. That was really touching, but also a reminder that Margaret isn't there anymore. Her funeral is scheduled for next Thursday at the time that they would normally meet for T@3.

We came home and finally opened a bottle of champagne that's been in the fridge since the summer! I need to catch up with loads of people tomorrow.

My blip is of one of the prominent stands in the Mall with an infinity mirror.
