All alone and defiant ...

8.8C Dull to start but brightness trying hard to break through in the short afternoon.

We went grocery shopping in Arbroath again so we had a chance to take a walk round the harbour and have an inspection after the high tides and winds of Friday. No discernable damage. Some evidence of seaweed and flotsam having come over the outer harbour wall. I like this picture of the tiny 'Defiant' against the expanse of harbour wall. It was the only boat in the outer basin today. All the other fishing boats were in the inner basin beside the marina and all the other boats. I'd like to think it was in the outer basin on Friday, cocking a snook at the storm :-)

When we got home and the shopping was put away Apothecary7, Maeve the Deerhound, and I went for our walk before lunch. We walked down towards the shore through the streets today and over a pedestrian bridge across the railway line to Carnoustie's beach. No evidence of damage to the sea defences although once again there is seaweed and flotsam to be seen well above high tide lines. At one point, where there is a wide access at the station end of the beach, there is a trail of seaweed all the way over to the road where the sea has rushed through the gap.

Later Maeve continued her appreciation of her new bed by sleeping on it for hours :-)
