Sloe down in Glenshellach Terrace

A wet and gloomy day here today. After taking Mrs M down to the Glasgow bus I came back for breakfast with our speaker from last night's Scottish Wildlife Trust talk, before taking him down to the bus. Andy Riches was speaking on the subject of 'The badger - victim or vermin'. As a trustee for Scottish Badgers he ran the training scheme and crime prevention program until he retired last year. He now works with the Scottish S.P.C.A. and police as an expert witness on badger crime. It was horrifying to learn just how popular and widespread badger baiting is, and even more so to hear that it's rife in Argyll. Legislation in Scotland needs to be souped up to deal with this horrendous activity. I don't think this is the place to recount some of his stories.

Anyway, while driving back from the library down Oban's Glenshellach Terrace, which is an extension of the High Street, I noticed these banks of sloe on the roadside. Down below is the industrial estate behind the Tesco supermarket.
