Woke to a wonderfully sunny day today, with an almost cloudless blue sky. It was Dunollie's tree planting day, or rather weekend, and Dunollie had shared the event with our Keep Oban Beautiful Facebook page, though in the event none of our supporters took up the challenge. So I joined Eilidh the gardener and four of her volunteers - plus one 9 year-old boy - and we planted and protected over 100 small trees and shrubs, both as hedges, individual trees and groups.

We had a good view of a white-tailed sea-eagle this afternoon as it sailed majestically overhead! Having finished the planting at 4pm we retired to the kitchen for hot chocolate and coffee cake when a brief shower gave them a watering in! No need to repeat the exercise tomorrow now as the work was all done!
