Street art

Down on Laukontori, along the wall of the one remaining factory in Tampere (Tako, part of the Metsä Board group making packaging for cigarettes), there is some fine street art, quite a bit of which celebrates Tampere's industrial heritage. I've been reading the book Red Tampere today which we bought when we went to Werstas back in February.

Inevitably, of course, I've also been following events in London. Great to see so many people marching against Brexit. I thought that holding the big event on 23 March would be like holding a wake. I thought everything would be done and dusted by now. In fact, we stand in front of a momentous week in politics.

It was a shame we couldn't be in London, but we can console ourselves with the memory that we did make it to the Iraq war demo... what little good that did. Instead, we had a quiet day, chilling this morning when the weather outside was pants, and heading out only at lunchtime to go to Plevna, the micro brewery that does excellent pork products, followed by a wander around some design shops. The weather should be better tomorrow. I hope we manage a longer walk (and perhaps have a less huge lunch...).
