Sunny Sunday

It's been a pretty sunny Sunday, and we've had a pretty good time.

This morning, we had a long walk over to the other side of town to visit the Sara Hildén museum, where we saw a thought-provoking exhibition by Kiki Smith (nope, I hadn't heard of her either before) and of course patronised the museum café. The building is a very successful piece of modernist design and is a perfect space for modern art. As the museum is by the lake, it was great to get a chance to see the icy lake properly for the first time. I would have thought that it would be far too hazardous to go out there, but in fact I saw two men out on the lake ice at one point, possibly doing some ice fishing. We wandered back through the city, and had a lazy afternoon, until we walked over to the University after dinner to drop the bag. On the way back, we stopped at Telaka for a glass of wine (it not being possible to buy a bottle at Alko on a Sunday...). Meanwhile, I kept an eye on the petition, which is over 5 million and counting (but rising more slowly than before, inevitably). And I've done <20k steps for the first time in a day for a very long time, and the most steps in a week since November, when I went to Madrid. Better signs with the foot, which has largely not bothered me since Tuesday (although it's had its moments...).

Last night in the Airbnb, but not our last night in Tampere.
