A lone Cormorant

After the supermarket run I thought a walk alongside the river Great Ouse would be a pleasant way to spend an hour, and it was.

Several Cormorants flew upstream and also a couple of Herons, but they quickly disappeared into the reeds on the other side of the river.  I also spotted a Roe deer making a dash across the open fields towards the wood.

Oakley House looks rather sad with all the shutters across the windows, but it still makes a pleasant picture.

This afternoon I've been reshaping the lawn edging and now have a big barrow full of turf which I don't know what to do with, and now it's time to put the chicken in the oven.
