Make it stop

six year olds circling
together
shoulder to shoulder
their natural world
a wobbling
whirling tipping
top
spinning out of control

open mouths, wide eyes
seeking
looking for the helpers
warm arms
to enfold, enclasp
encircle
in safe embrace


In the States we had a beloved and gentle soul, Fred Rogers, who hosted a television program for children, for all of us for many years. I was in college when his calming message embraced us as our world began spinning out of control. Here are some of his words...
