SIZERGH FARM TRAIL

I had to miss Tai Chi today as I had to pick up our friend G from Oxenholme late morning.  Boy was it cold with a bitter breeze up there.  We then went on to Sizergh Barn for coffee and munchies.

I'd never been on the Farm Trail before and assumed it was a short walk around the farm.   I couldn't have been more wrong.  It was a lovely walk, but took us three times longer than most as G had to keep propping up the trees due to his mobility problems.  It didn't help that there wasn't a map until you were half way round.  We decided if it took all day we would just do it, so we did.  It could do with some benches around for people like him.  At one point the path seemed to fizzle out, the gate into the field had no arrow saying go that way so we found another path and ended up going round in a circle, to end up the other side of that gate!!!

Oh well.  it was still a beautiful trail.  So many buttercups and wild garlic with smatterings of primroses and a section of bluebells, just about to come out.  There was also a fairy glade with a wee lake, that had the tiniest daffodils I have ever seen, outside of a household pot.

We eventually got back to the car.  He is now having to have a proper rest and plenty to drink (not alcoholic).

Hope you all had a nice day.  See you tomorrow.
