Purslane

Although it is bitterly cold, with the wind chill factor bringing the temperature down to 3.9 deg C today, the spring flowers are bravely showing their faces!  I spied this pink purslane in B&J's woodland this afternoon - the start of a whole carpet of it flowering, to be followed by the celandine which has spread along all the little tracks and paths.

Lottie is getting a lot calmer, lots of training to stop the jumping up and nipping!  Her puppy teeth are like needles!  We had a good walk and romp about in the field and then she slept while I made a chicken and leek pie.  Also made a bread and butter pud, using a sliced fruit loaf with extra orange in it.  We had some for supper when Mike came in from choir and it was excellent.  Not really surprising considering it had half a pint of cream in it, and three of our own eggs!
