Duffryn Gardens

"A good traveller has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving."
Lao Tzu

Which is especially true when travelling the A4232 off the M4 to Culverhouse Cross for an afternoon at Duffryn Gardens. Easter traffic mayhem arrived early and it was stop/start for most of the way along the link road; couldn't get off at St Fagans because that was packed too. The other carriageway out had an overturned vehicle and miles of tailbacks in the other direction. So patience prevailed and we made it through Culverhouse Cross and off to St Nicholas for lunch and an afternoon promenading in the garden and sitting in the sunshine. Busy of course but the gardens are large enough to lose the crowds, and my favourite statue of Lao Tzu commands a slightly elevated view of the house.
