Nearly!

5 ladies (some in shorts) and a dog did a fab walk this morning in this amazing weather we are experiencing.

Walking from Dick Hudson’s above High Eldwick we set off through fields and lanes with lots of Lapwings protecting their territory. We crossed the Gallops twice where the horses are exercised for the Sue/Harvey Smith’s stud. Great to see the horses but also saw two deer and as we dropped down behind Weecher reservoir D and I saw a hare running off at great speed.

Crossed the road on to Bingley Moor. It was very hot making the deceptively but steady climb to the top of the moor. We made an extension to the walk to take in the 12 Apostles stone circle. Not sure if I’ve seen these before though I don’t know how I’ve missed them. Returning we saw a Red Kite and saw heard the Skylarks and got a bit of welcome breeze? A fabulous walk and start to the day. Couldn’t decide which shot to blip so I’ve made a compilation.
We commented on how dry every thing was and I’ve just had a text from S (Wilsden Walker) who organised the walk to say that the moor is on fire just behind Dick Hudson’s, the path we returned on! She can see it from her house in the neighbouring village which is higher up than us. What a shock.

Spent the rest of the day tidying up the garden and cleaning the garden furniture. We have an egg hunt to do on Monday for a special someone.
Now it’s all done the weather is bound to go off but we are making the most of it this weekend while we can! Hope you’re enjoying your Easter break.
