A male red-winged blackbird displaying in the maple tree in front of our house this afternoon. There were two males out there which probably was the reason for the macho behavior. His tail is spread and his wings lifted to show his red epaulets to maximum advantage. All while saying something that sounds like "conk-a-REEE!!!" It was his calling that made me go and take a look...
