Erythronium dens-canis

Another busy day round home so a quick garden shot.   These Dog's Tooth Violets have been in the garden for several decades.   This is the variety "Pagoda".   I am sure the wild variety can't be yellow otherwise it would hardly have been called Dog's Tooth Violet.  It seems to be very happy on the north side of the house in soil which is almost always damp.

Nearly everything gathered ready for our Solace fortnight.  Tomorrow "the Mate" arrives we load the Land Rover ready for an early start the next day.  An evening with Kanyl rounded of the day nicely.
