Blowing Up

Day three, the good vessel Rascallion shall leave the safe haven of ‘Ainster’ to head across the Firth, via the magical Isle of May which will be viewed at close quarters.* The remoteness of the island set in the wide running seas cannot help but inspire awe in all who have the fortune to chance this way.
Who can forget the words spoken by Captain Hoseason, at the Hawes Inn in Kidnapped?  "The wind's fair, and the tide upon the turn; we'll see the old coal-bucket burning on the Isle of May before to-night.” Fair winds indeed.
But Dunbar shall be our destination: through that perilous reef and gorge-like harbour entrance beneath the old castle we shall tie up and make our way to the Volunteers Arms. And appropriately our esteemed colleague AJ McFlea will be on hand to discuss the establishment of Volunteer Corps circa 1800 across the country in opposition to revolutionary republicanism; the system inherent in what were known broadly as 'French principles.’ He has also promised a surprise of a musical nature!
