Backing out to go up

Walked back to the inpatient unit after spending some time on Level 5, where I had various things to do. That included a meeting about how we are managing the five day withdrawal of labour by the resident doctors union. We are managing in part because this is the fourth of a series of strikes, the first three being for two days only. A number of their members cannot afford to not be paid for a full week, and it appears that more union members turned up for work today than did so in the earlier strikes. Not many people know exactly what the issue is that is preventing agreement.

One of the rescue helicopters left the helipad behind the children's hospital (which is out of sight to the left as looked at) flying backwards into the frame. It then reversed and went forward and higher.

Perhaps it's time for the negotiators to do the same.
