Gone west

After 4 months back at the Commonwealth Pool first thing and then off west for a late lunch with Y. It was so cold, 5 deg, I had to dig out the winter coat. It's good to see the revamped Queen St station is coming on.

There was quite a lot of street activity today. Outside Register House, the Brexit Party. They didn't stop me, shame as I had a response, that they were brave to be in a city there leader was run out of, that voted 72% to remain, capital of a country that voted 62% to remain, but then I guess it is free speech.

In George Square the Scottish Socialist Party, they seemed to be on about 'taking back control' and elsewhere supporters of the AUOB independence march. But the loudest cheer at 3 pm was from Connolly's bar - Celtic had won the League, unfortunately by beating the Dons 3-0.

Y's granddaughter is at St Al's. First Communion is next weekend. The 'quasi bridal' dress and accoutrements come to a ridiculous sum of money (4 figures). No idea what this has got to do with religion, especially as the school seems to be able to dictate what can, and cannot, be worn.

Rant over, now home and catching up on yesterday's 'Gardener's World'.
