Slowly

Spring is coming, the magnolia that I planted many years ago has survived again. Our area is not good for young magnolias unless in very sheltered positions & a small hedge I planted 5m away to block the very cold east winter winds we have, seems to be working.

I have lost the battle to trim back the willow that overhangs it & is killing off the far side. At the same time, I am not allowed to cut down a useless spruce growing into the willow on the other side and which is pushing it further over to the magnolia. And then there is the horrible thuja just to the west of the magnolia that is huge & out to be felled. I have given up trying to get my way.
