Busy garden day

We didn’t make it to the allotment but got lots done in the garden. But that was after a perfect breakfast in the conservatory - bacon, eggs, beans and toast - I even put the toast in a toast rack, just like in our hotel last week, just cheaper!

While Jon started to prepare the ground that Henry and I had cleared last week, Henry and I went to the garden centre in Overstrand, where a very nice young french man cut off us 3 metres of pond liner and a bit of tubing for the water feature. Back home Jon had cut down a lot of overhanging trees and ivy and was starting on the hole. By the end, we had a big hole, and a lot of earth and shrubbery to dispose of. Henry and I chipped some of it and then when the hole was levelled, we laid the liner inside, and filled it with water ( which took ages)!! We hope to finish it next weekend - I’ll keep you updated!

I cut the grass next door and then we went into Cromer to finish off our bank holiday Monday with a bit of fun. Fish and chips overlooking the sea, followed by an ice cream and then half an hour spending 2ps in the arcades! A proper bank holiday Monday - jobs at home and a day trip to the seaside!

It’s a bit chilly now, so Jon and I are snuggled under a couple of blankets catching up on a bit of tv from last Monday. ‘Not going out’ and ‘Ghosts’ so that we can watch tonight’s episodes on time.

A 4 day working week ahead. No headache now, so hope it stays that way!
