Boot Up Time

I'm a bit sluggish this morning (like my damn laptop - testing too many new tools/configs) after dinner and drinks last night. The boots hanging from a tree on the path on the way to work was a blip gift, if a bit random! Clearly not left there by accident...

Here's the full menu from last night's feast that Mrs42 and I cooked for friends:

An apperatif of pink sparkling wine.

Crostini of home made bread with caremalised shallots and parmesan shavings.

Coq au vin with baby onions and chestnut mushrooms and the sauce reduced with some brandy served with croutons of pan toasted home made bread, mash, brocoli and carrots.

Pancakes served with golden syrup, sugar and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Tea/coffee and (Umpa Lumpa) birthday cake followed by a glass of 1983 vintage port (thanks for that again Big Dog).

Suffice it to say that we were all pretty stuffed. Thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday as well!
