An important cause

While doing my walk around Central Market today, I came across this set of striking posters about Equal Exchange, a movement to support small farmers around the world and make sure they profit from the fruits of their labor.  The store sells many Equal-Exchange-labeled products.

Since I wasn't contacted to set up the X-rays and MRI the pain specialist ordered two weeks ago, I called Radiology today and discovered that, even if the referral has been sent, someone has to call and let them know.  Since I called, I was able to get an appointment for this Thursday.  Not how I had planned on spending my birthday, but I'd love to be pain-free.  Since Lex and Doug will be going to Arizona to move Doug's mother up here - yes, she finally decided and set a date - I was lucky to be able to get an appointment before they leave, as I am terrified of the MRI and need Lex there to hold my hand.  I have staples in my neck from a surgical procedure in 1984, before ferrous-metal staples were phased out, so I've always been told that I couldn't have an MRI because the staples might move and could kill me.  But both pain specialists checked with radiologists and said that an MRI of my lower spine would not be a problem.  The staples might heat up, but they wouldn't move.

I've been reading Marie Kondo's book about tidying, and I'm set to take it on.  However, before I can begin with clothing, as she recommends, I've had to start on my extremely cluttered pantry.  I spent most of today sorting out what's in there and washing things so I can recycle them.  I also took many, many plastic bags to recycle at the market.  I'm hoping the rest of it won't take all day tomorrow, but since I have to take frequent breaks to sit down, I'm not optimistic.
