Finally

Walking PD past the station this morning and noticed that all the fencing had been removed overnight.
I had to check that the lifts were working ………. they were! Well over a year late. On Thursday the control panel was lit up displaying 'Street Level', so they could have been operational for nearly a week (at least) but it has been the Snowman mentality  ………. 'S no ma job to leave the fence open!

We left the house in the wet to go to the funeral of our brother-in-law's father.
It was rather telling of the family dynamics that our brother-in-law …. the oldest son  …… was not in the funeral car. Even more telling was that his second son was not in attendance at all.
The eulogy told of a very loving, generous and open man - not the man I had met …. he was a selfish, money hungry bully.
Whilst at the hotel after the funeral (whose food was not of very good quality or quantity for the standard of establishment) we found out that our assessment of the man was the correct one. After no2 son running the family business for years he has been cut out of the will.

This evening SWMBO and I are going for a meal with The Macs and Castors (who is up from Preston before she and Mrs Mac head off to Skye) before going to the camera club for the 'Portfolio' (4 pictures linked by a common theme) and 'Equaliser' (any subject but taken on a 50mm or equivalent lens) competitions.

EDIT ………....
I won the Equaliser with THIS ……………. and came 2nd in the Portfolio with ThisThisThis and This (the judge didn't like the lights in the first two or the face in the fourth).
