If you can't beat them...

Allium ursinum

Our garden does in times of serious storm (Storm Desmond for example) flood.  That probably accounts for the appearance in the garden of Ramsons, Wild Garlic, Bear's Garlic, it has many names.

Over the years it has formed a carpet beneath the Acers and Whitebeam, just it natural habitat and making Clickychick's woodland garden so much more natural.

The scientific name ties in well with the name Bear's garlic presumably bears find it attractive.  The leaves are milder than true garlic the flowers are also edible.  It is believed to lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
