Before

Starting this year's big project which is a bit daunting. This slope was previously terraced, overgrown and waterlogged and so impossible to maintain in any way that was easy and attractive. The digger was in last autumn shifting things around and we returned in February to an exciting slippery expanse. The plan is to be able to spray off new weed growth in the next couple of months, get some topsoil in and grass it over. However, it has obviously been extremely dry and we have what feels like concrete out there. In fact, it's so hard that not even the weeds are bothering particularly. So, we've decided to tackle a little at a time, pray for softening rain (but none of that heavy downpour stuff please) and just do what we can. It might not look like it but we have done a few hours on it today!
