TINY TUESDAY - VEGETABLE

I wanted to show one of Mr. HCB’s tiny plants that will eventually grow into a vegetable, and thought that this one fitted the bill well. I wonder if anyone can guess what this plant is?

A few clues about the end product of this vegetable - they are:

·      A popular snack.
·      Tasty, plant-based, and free from added sugar.
·      Can be bought shelled or in the pod, fresh or frozen.
·      Naturally gluten-free and low in calories
·      Contain no cholesterol
·      An excellent source of protein, iron, and calcium.
·      An important source of protein for those who follow a plant-based diet.
·      Can promote a healthy complexion and hair, and boost energy.

Of course, Mr. HCB spends a lot of time out in the greenhouse nurturing all his plants, but the food ones get that little bit extra care and attention.  As well as these particular plants, there are runner beans, dwarf beans, tomatoes, sweetcorn, butternut squash, courgette, leeks, cabbage, sprouts, kale, lettuce - and of course, lots of different flowers, including sweet peas sent to me by two lovely Blip friends - it's no wonder that at this time of the year I am "Number 3" in his life, after cricket and the garden!

Have fun guessing!
