New Haven's Museums

My son Adrian and Marylee are in front of the Yale University Art Gallery, which we had just visited. It has recently finished a complete renovation, which has significantly expanded its exhibition space. We saw only part of the newly installed galleries, and they are impressive indeed.

We also saw an excellent exhibition of Anthony Caro's small scale sculptures throughout his career, accompanied by early drawings, at the British Art Center. Caro (born in 1924) is Britain's most renown living sculptor; I had known him exclusively from his large-scale works, so this show was quite a revelation.

It was great to see Adrian and his partner Heather again--they are doing well.
