Show time

Fife Show today- our local agricultural show and after almost a week of glorious weather it was unfortunately a damp cloudy day with an almost continuous light drizzle.
The farming community turned up as did the horse fraternity but I suspect some of the town folk gave it a miss and my annual task of judging the pet competition was made very easy with only one rabbit and a hamster turning up !
Unfortunately no guinea pigs or hens this year.

It wasn’t a day to bring out my camera and mid afternoon I headed home and we set off on the 3 hour drive North to Findhorn where we are now settled for a few days in my brother in law ‘s cosy house.

The blip shows one of the heavy horses pulling a stallion cart - in days gone by stallions would be taken round the farms at breeding time and these light carts were used so the the stallion wasn’t tired out pulling a heavier cart.

The extras show one of the prize bulls and a pen of pigs in the rare breeds section- I liked how they slept through all that was going on around them with people being encouraged to stroke the sleeping sow!
