A New Bird for Me

My Husband and I went for a walk on a new boardwalk in Rockaway Beach this early evening; the area is a wetland and very peaceful. The boardwalk ends and then there is a 1/4 mile trail to one of the biggest Western Red Cedar trees in Oregon. We could hear lots of birds along the boardwalk and I got this photo of some kind of Flycatcher.....at least, I think it is a flycatcher. He was very tiny and up high in a dead tree; I was delighted this photo turnout okay because I gave it a deep crop! We will definitely come back here for a walk again......the boardwalk was paid for by the tax charged on the local motels and house rentals......seems like a good thing to use those taxes for since tourists will enjoy walking in this beautiful area.

Our grandson was staying at his other grandparent's beach house this weekend with four of his friends; they came over to our house for breakfast and then we all went out crabbing. It was fun because the boys took turns pulling the traps......we cooked and bagged the crabs so each of the boys had a good share to take home for dinner. They all texted later and said they had had delicious dinners with their families....they are very nice young men. They range in age from 20 to 21 years old.....but each of them are still living at home since housing is so expensive in Portland area.

It was a very nice day. Life is good.
