The studio and work of John Thompson

Phase one of about 12 completed. At Heathrow Sofitel ready for tomorrow’s departure to Boston. Very nice here.

Early morning visit to the allotment for final watering then home to for breakfast and the myriad of little things that need to be done when going away.

It was rather special at the allotment this morning, understandably, I was the only one there, it was quiet, clear, cool with bright early morning sunshine and the birds were singing away. I had to stop and savour the moment despite the tasks in hand. It was magical and set up the rest of the day.

We called in at Nymans Gardens as part of the journey to Heathrow. We’d been there before on a wet day on Susan’s birthday two years ago. Much better day today.

Arrived at hotel in good time to enjoy the lounge, complimentary drinks and food. Very relaxed start to the trip.

Today blip is of the work of John Thompson, artist in residence at Nymans. I blipped him working two years ago. Here he’s just vacated his chair to work with some young children. His work is fascinating, so fascinating indeed that I
purchased one of his paintings last time we were here. Great colour here and fine splashes and daubs as well.

Tomorrow we fly to Boston.
