1966 FERRARI 275 GTB COMPETIZIONE

It would not be wrong to say that I fell in love with this Ferrari this weekend...

Other than that, I can only say how fortunate I am to have considerate and good friends. In this case I got to visit the Concorso d'Eleganza again this year at Villa Este on Lake Como.  Once again I am in forever debt to have the chance to visit this exclusive venue and to see the cars, their owners, the people in attendance and various personalities of the car world... This year was rather particular in that the skies opened at the start of the parade and the presentation was moved under this canopy, which upset all the rules about keeping people in line and out of the line of sight of the cameras and tv crews.  ha.  Yes, I got wet even with a big umbrella, but I enjoyed every moment.  Mr. Kidston is the most genius and knowledgeable presenter who also shows up at Pebble Beach.  He really loves all the cars and delves into the history of each one.

I could paste a 100 extra pictures to today's Blip.  I shot nearly 1500 pictures over the course of the day.  There were some real gems this year, including the one off 17 million euro Bugatti La Voiture Noire, but I think I just prefer to single out the experience in this photo as Kidston presents this beautiful Ferrari...

I actaully voted for a bright yellow 1966 Bizzarrini GT Strada 5300 Bertone, which just oozes design and style from any angle and niche, but once I heard the 12 cylinder 275 GTB Competition fire up, it sealed the deal.  This car IS the deal.  Wow, still dreaming about that raucous in my ears.  The owner really enjoyed to tickle the carbs to the pleasure of the crowd...
