The Felling of a Giant

Anothe giant of the Meadows bit the dust today- at least 75% of it did . As usual, the tree surgeons have left a sizeable stump behind which unusually has some sprouting twigs on it, so that hopefully in a few years there might be increased growth.

I felt rather daft travelling through to Glasgow to have another haircut in the same salon that the daughters took me to on Mother’s Day in their desperation to get rid of my pony tail. However it meant I could have a quick coffee with Glasgow daughter while she was on her way to work.

The hair cut and blow dry was successfully accomplished just as the heavens opened to produce a downpour of biblical proportions. Fortunately with foresight I was wearing a raincoat with a hood which prevented the hairstyle being a wash out but it was another matter with the shoes , which were no match for the rivers of water cascading down the pavement. It felt like gorge walking.
