Mum had over 20 scam phone calls in four hours today. It's outrageous! I've set up CallSafe for her, and now we have to hope that she can hear the names and the instructions when screened calls come through. It makes me so furious that these effing criminals put people through all this worry and inconvenience. I've spent a lot of time trying to explain that they're not picking specifically on her, that most of it is automated diallers working through computerised lists of millions of numbers until someone presses the 1 key and sets off the scam, and it's mostly elderly people who still have landlines and are more likely to be at home, but it's quite hard not to begin feeling a bit paranoid about it.
