Unexpected colour

We were quite rude about these iris earlier in the season because we expected them to appear at the same time as the tulips which have long gone over.  We were chuntering to each other about duff bulbs when, quite recently, we noticed some colour appearing and in the last week this gorgeousness has appeared.

The remainder of the day has been passed doing jobs, visiting a neighbour who recently moved down in to the village and having a very muggy hobble with three pals.
