Life in Sunny Dubai

Americana

We didn't know it when we got there, but today turned out to be the last day of Ramadan!

Mary and Elizabeth wanted to do something over the holidays, and this activity was picked out of a few options that I presented. (Afternoon Tea at the Waldorf Astoria was one of them). The weather was remarkably pleasant at 7pm when we got there. There was enough light to walk around and see all the Americana. It was deserted which worked well. One weird thing the developer has started to do is to ask anyone with a "professional" camera i.e. DSLR, to sign some kind of waiver form!

We came home via a few key roads to take in the sights as well as see the lights put up for the Royal Weddings on 6th June. Mary let me drive her Lexus there and back. That was quite a treat.

Prior to that, we watched the State visit of the Trumps to the UK. Tweets sent out insulting your hosts minutes before landing... G's 8-11-year-old Awana kids have better manners.
