A Walk In The Woods
After a good few days of not really doing anything, we were out today for a walk in what can only be described as blustery conditions. I really liked the light as it fell through the trees.
Don't let the sunshine fool you though, underfoot* it was really claggy - and in one place the path was actually a little stream**. Still it was fun stomping along and having the cobwebs blown away.
When we got back, there was a rather splendid tea where the QSM tried Mince Pies for the first time. Mince Pies are not a well know thing here (as Kettwigefrau can tell you), but I think they would probably find a lot of takers in this Land Of Cakes.
Home now and time for a quiet evening in front of the telly. Looking forward to work tomorrow when I'll essentially be my team. This means I have to answer the phone - always a bit of an adventure when I'm on my own.
* I used the word "unterfuß" and discovered I'd invented a brand new German word. There is no "underfoot" in German.
** A little stream is "ein Bach", just like the composer.
