A morning boat trip to Staffa and Fingal's Cave shows me what lies "on the doorstep", and it is simply stunning. A journey to another realm, a world of myth and magic that has inspired poets, musicians and artists since its' discovery in the eighteenth century. We were fortunate enough to be able to land and walk the basalt columns to the cave entrance, followed by a cliff top walk to sit amongst the puffins.
