TINY TUESDAY - FLOWER - DEAD OR ALIVE

What do you do when it is blowing a hoolie outside and you can’t get out into the garden to look for a “live” flower?  Well, if you are anything like me, you find one of the vases of “dead” flowers that are scattered around your house and then you play with photographing one of those.

Most of our friends know by now that even if we don’t have live flowers in a vase, there are plenty of dead ones around, so I don’t even need to apologise now - except of course, when you are expecting Blip friends for lunch and they have never been to your house before - but hang on, if they are Blip friends, they may even have the dead flowers too!

I photographed dead roses, tulips and nigella seed heads, but having spoken to Mr. HCB, both he and I liked this one - a dead tulip, which has a beauty all its own.

The lawn is still full of buttercups and daisies, so in this awful rain, won’t be cut any time soon, but Mr. HCB, having been “confined to barracks” yesterday afternoon, has decided that he needs to go out into the greenhouse and do some work out there today - rather him than me!

I need to go out later, so will spend the morning doing a tax return and then hopefully, will go out when the weather has calmed down a little.  I just knew we shouldn’t keep grumbling about the hot weather last year - it’s come back to bite us this year!

This is the quote that people often use when the weather is awful:

“There's no such thing as bad weather,
     only unsuitable clothing.”
Alfred Wainwright :  A Coast to Coast Walk

P.S.  Thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday - Mr. HCB is very grateful that he is seen as an Honorary Blipper - expensive mind, but very useful helpful!
