Faking Summer

The heating is turned up and put on earlier than usual to combat the temperature of 7° complete with wind and rain-abysmal, soul destroying weather. My blip of the summer flowers round this doorway was taken before breakfast when all hope for a reasonable summer day was not yet quite extinguished.

Just as the rain pelted down and the sky met the ground, my original friend of many talents, now resident in Ireland, met me for lunch and an afternoon of catching up on all our news.
On a day more like one in December it was the perfect way to forget the scene outwith the Dower House walls.
