Sheltered

Peering out from under my hood in the light rain on our walk today amongst the trees, this group of ferns attracted my attention. They are also sheltered from the elements nestled beneath their larger neighbours. Lush green and glistening from the rain, they seem almost too exotic for their location.

I upped my iso because I was hand holding and with the stabilisation was able to get a sharp enough shot. I was careful not to over expose the highlights on the left hand ferns that were reflecting light from the sky above. That did leave some of the deeper shadows very black, although I was able to lighten them sufficiently in post.
