Father's Day

I wasn't quite the Father's Day I had planned. Thomas left home early this morning to go study in the library at school, so he did not get to see Gavin - Gavin went out for a run in the rain, and by the time Luke and Adam were up I finally made breakfast for them at about midday.

Gavin did some work in the garden, and then went to B&Q with Adam and by the time they got back it was about 3pm. Lunch seemed to pass by - I was busy doing loads of laundry and ironing (Luke and Adam's washing added to our laundry made it a busy morning). Finally at 3.30pm we realised we had not eaten lunch, and so went to the village and had lunch at Cote which was very good.

The photo today had to be of Gavin and his boys, it's just sad that Thomas is not included. Gavin is a bit squashed between them these days!

Adam was going to return to Cambridge this morning as he had a garden party to attend, but he did not feel like going so he managed to sell his ticket to a friend. Today is Suicide Sunday at Cambridge University, so named as it is the end of exams and often a period of tension as they wait for their results. Adam has already got his results and got exactly what he hoped for so that is good.

On Tuesday night we have tickets to see Fleetwood Mac - one of my favourite bands, and everyone in the family enjoys their music so I bought tickets as a Christmas present to the family in December. Adam forgot and he has doubled booked and has a ball to attend. To be fair it is the premiere ball of the week, he has never been able to get tickets in all his four years there but managed to secure a ticket this year, thankfully at a reduced rate as the cost is extortionist for students - he managed to get the ticket as he is working all day at the ball to help with the setup. We have been able to get someone else to take his ticket.
