Punts, Poppies, Bikes, and a Teeny Weeny Blipmeet!

Bus Challenge No 169 1/2!

Cambridge

An early start, and a lift from M, meant that I was in Cambridge before 9am. Unbeknown to me, all the colleges were closed to the public as it was May Week, and everyone was busy clearing up after May Balls. So instead I did a spot of shopping, visited Great St Mary’s Church and walked down to the river to watch the punts, not that there were many about at that time of morning.

Next stop was Cafe Foy at Quayside for a teeny weeny Blipmeet with Babrecila (we missed you Peachez). After an early lunch and a good old natter, I left B and went on to Kettle’s Yard, “A beautiful and unique house in Cambridge, England with a distinctive collection of 20th century art, and a gallery exhibiting contemporary and modern art.” www.kettlesyard.co.uk Such a beautiful home, and an amazing art collection, the above link will give you more information if you’re interested.

After a quick visit to the neighbouring eleventh century church of St Peter, I’d run out of umph so took the bus back to Littleport, which is where I ran into the rain! But at least it stayed dry while I was in Cambridge, and more importantly for my teeny weeny blipmeet!

Total bus journey time = 1 hour 25 mins
