Another windmill!

We went to How Hill Nature Reserve today where we went on a trip in an electric boat. It pottered along the creeks and stopped at a hide on the way.  Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us all about the rare and less rare plants on the Broads and how the landscape is maintained.

It was most enjoyable especially as we were the only people on the trip so had his commentary tailored to us!  The blip is of another windpump on that Broad - I couldn't resist it with that sky.

In the afternoon F did some fishing there while I went into a meadow with my camera. I took photos of various flying insects including several bee species. The extra is one of the many Painted Lady Butterflies around here. They that have migrated from North Africa, The Middle East and Asia - amazing for a little butterfly!

This evening we went for a walk around our local reserve and saw a barn owl flying around the field. Unfortunately the photos aren't very good as it was getting dark but it was a wonderful sight to end a great holiday. Back home tomorrow.
