SOMETIMES A GOOD PRUNE DOES WONDERS!

Our Paul’s Scarlet climbing rose is doing very well this year, probably because I pruned it hard in the early Spring.  I took this shot quite early this morning and thought the dark red blooms looked lovely against our blue fence.  The only sadness is that this is not a repeat flowering rose, so once the flowers have gone, that’s it for another year.

Went to see my Mother this afternoon - she was in better spirits but said she had had a bad night so she had decided to stay in bed all day.

It’s been a beautiful day today with bright sunshine and wonderful blue skies, but Mr. HCB is not hopeful that it will be like this next week as he starts a four day trip to Bristol to see his team playing cricket on Monday - time will tell.

Apologies for not commenting much - but thank you for your understanding at this difficult time and thank you too for the lovely comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s Blip.  I must have needed the sleep, because I slept the clock round last night.

“The rose is a rose
from the time it is a seed
          to the time it dies.
Within it, at all times,
     it contains its whole potential.
It seems to be constantly
     in the process of change:
          yet at each state,
at each moment,
     it is perfectly all right
          as it is.”
