RoundUp

14 days ago I posted a collage that included this wheat field having just been (over) fertilised. I commented with my thoughts on what would now happen.

Looks like I could be right. The field has again been sprayed despite it clearly growing like mad and not a weed or single poppy or another competitor. So I assume the RoundUp (glyphosate) killer is now at work to artificially ripen the crop & soon we can look forward to the poison being in our beer, bread, mother's breast milk & the nearby parish water well (small building & fenced off area to the top left of Geotag).

I think Bavaria's new laws on bio-diversity may start on July 1st but I am not yet quite sure exactly what restrictions apply. I hope a total ban.

Upside - perhaps I may have a good Tractor Tuesday blip in a week or two when the combine arrives. The sun was back today & at least for the coming week, we have pure sunshine and 30°C+ forecast. That will help the "ripening".

What a crazy world we live in. But it seems Germany isn't the only place crazy things are going on in.
