Life through the lens...

Whitby weather!

Whether the weather be fine
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold
Or whether the weather be hot,
We’ll weather the weather
What ever the weather
Whether we like it or not.

Coach trip with friends and the WI.
A wet day in Whitby.
But as you can see, undeterred and in true Yorkshire style we enjoyed every minute.
Laughed a lot.
Had a great lunch of Fish and Chips. tea and bread and butter in a little restaurant called
Alexander’s. Very good value at £7.50 and the fish perfectly cooked. Crispy batter and white flaky fish.
We were going to go to the famous Trenchers, but weren’t prepared to queue outside in the rain for half a hour.
However they couldn’t have been any better than the ones we ate.

A walk round the old town. Still raining. Looked in several shops. Rain getting heavier.
So finished off for drinks in the White Horse and Griffin.
Dating from 1681, and the first coaching inn for coaches from Whitby to York and London.
Captain James Cook hired and fixed his crews from this building.

Took a photo of the harbour before crossing the bridge back to the bus .
It rained all the way home.
Now enjoying a nice cuppa. My vocal chords need a rest too!
