For Felt

"The NME, having decided to feature the band in depth, swapped what was intended to be a Felt cover story with a feature on the rise of teenage suicide rates. In it's move into sociology the paper had blown Lawrence's chance of front-page stardom. The interview, while lavishing praise on the record, highlighted Lawrence's many idiosyncrasies, which included an aversion to vegetables and an OCD relationship with hygiene, air fresheners and anyone thinking of using his lavatory." Richard King, from 'HOW SOON IS NOW?: The Madmen and Mavericks Who Made Independent Music 1975-2005'

A better performance from Forest today than last time we went, despite the weather and this week's upheavals at the club. Mind you, if they hadn't got the equaliser in extra time it would have been a travesty, as Forest were definitely the better team on the day. Still, Crystal Palace were tight at the back and quick on the break, which are two areas that Forest could do better in.

More full-on holiday behaviour: we went to see the photography exhibition, 'Saturday Night Sunday Morning: the 'authentic moment' in British Photography', at the Lakeside yesterday - a really good mixture of stills and promos for the film alongside other early sixties 'kitchen sink' stuff (teddy boys, terraces in Hulme, Goose Fair, etc.) - and later on IKEA (for the authentic furniture moment in 2012) and children's storage construction... What's more we had turkey tikka masala for tea today...!
