Summer Heat

At 85F we're finally hitting the mark as summer kicks in which, still with jet lag leading to sleep depravation, I feel lazy and not inclined to wander far. In any case spraying for mosquitoes limits where I can go.

Fortunately close by I saw these iris leaves backlit by the ebbing sun and thought how dramatic they look in such high contrast against the deep shadow of the woods below. Rim lighting around the edge of the leaves delineates them and gives the dancing pattern of vertical lines even more prominence.

A touch of pink from out of focus flowers creates a nice counterpoint.
