Magic

A friend and I have been planning some milky way shots for a while and we decided we would try Lostock Dam.  I didn't realise it was quite as far away as it was and so we didn't get there probably tell nearly 9 pm.  It was worth the winding narrow road as we were quite high up and there was no light pollution.  There were two handy lights on a building near the damn you could focus on - bonus.  It was an absolutely perfect night and I think I saw about half a dozen meteors or the like.

We stopped at a bridge we had seen on the way up and did some more shots but the light painting of the bridge was a little tricky.  I didn't get to bed until 2.30am so was wrecked the next day particularly driving to Sydney but boy was it a magic night.
