Pollock

Although the shapes, colours and texture are repeated over all the image, nature, being what it is, creates variations throughout producing a chaotic pattern reminiscent of a Pollock painting. The variegated leaves tinged with yellow are predominantly dark green, fortunately there is one bright yellow creating a sort of focal point. Light pink petals contrast starkly against the dark green making an unusual colour combination.

I'm sure Pollock had loftier ambitions for his paintings than I had for my photo.

I shot this pointing the lens straight down focusing on the closest leaves and really my only choices were how much to include and which area produced the most pleasing pattern.
